Located in the historic Ruan House (1796), the museum hosts Civil War Roundtables, heritage groups, programs and tours ofits extensive collection of artifacts, as well as offering access
to its library and collections.
The Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) Museum & Library is a non-profit, patriotic organization that actively seeks to preserve our American heritage and memorialize the history of the Civil War and the Union Veteran’s Association called the G.A.R..
The Museum and Library is open each 1st Sunday of every month from 12 noon till 5PM with a varied program of presentations on Civil War Era and related themes at 1:30PM. In addition, there are special presentations and programs scheduled at various times throughout the year.
The Library is also open on Tuesdays for research. However, it is requested that you call in advance to ensure that our volunteer staff can accommodate you on the weekday openings: 215-289-6484
The Museum & Library is available for group visits by appointment at other times.
